Allan Hancock College
Allan Hancock College is a California public community college located in northern Santa Barbara County. Approximately 10,000 credit students enroll each semester at one of the college's four locations in Santa Maria, Lompoc, Solvang or at Vandenberg Air Force Base. International students take most of their courses at the main campus in Santa Maria, a 105-acre park-like setting that provides students with exceptional teaching and state-of-the-art technology. The Board of Trustees recognizes that diversity in the academic environment fosters cultural awareness, promotes mutual understanding and respect, and provides suitable role models for all students.
Nursing (Vocational)
The licensed vocational nursing program is a twelve-month program offered every year, January through December (including summer session). Current California Certified Nursing Assistants who have completed program prerequisites are eligible to apply. The curriculum is designed to prepare the CNA to function as a LVN. Students must complete the state mandated hours in classroom and hospital experience in order to be eligible to take the state board examination required for licensure. The Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) has fully accredited this program.
