Clinical Psychology
Our two fully APA accredited clinical psychology programs offer a combination of traditional and innovative training opportunities. The clinical psychology programs are: (1) the PhD program which follows the traditional scientist-practitioner model, and (2) the PsyD program which is more oriented toward clinical practice. Some of the students in the program may also apply to obtain the specialization in health psychology/preventive care through an innovative training opportunity developed in cooperation with Loma Linda University's School of Public Health, by which the student can complete the PsyD and DrPH degrees simultaneously. The underlying philosophy of doctoral training in clinical psychology at LLU emphasizes that its students/graduates will be, first of all, psychologists who are well-grounded in the theory and science of psychology, then going on to become and function as clinical psychologists in a variety of settings.
