Founded in 1955, Cerritos College is a public comprehensive community college serving an area of 52 square miles of southeastern Los Angeles county. The college offers degrees and certificates in 87 areas of study in nine divisions. Over 1,200 students successfully complete their course of studies each year.
Cerritos College introduced the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Training Program in Fall 2000. As an emerging paraprofessional field, speech-language pathology assistants are in demand. In order to serve a growing and more diverse client base and expanding practice, more service providers are needed to assist licensed speech-language pathologists with routine day-to-day operational procedures.
