Merritt College is a public, two-year college. It is one of the four colleges of the Peralta Community College District in Alameda County. Merritt College offers a comprehensive day and evening program of transfer, technical, occupational and basic skills education, and is committed to meeting the educational needs of the diverse student population of Oakland.
Program graduates earn a Peralta Community College District Certificate of Achievement that satisfies the state Dietetic Service Supervisor requirement. They are also qualified to take the national certification examination of the Dietary Managers Association, earning the title of "Certified Food Protection Professional, Certified Dietary Manager."
