$25,262 – $30,498

Job description:

A certified nurse assistant (CNA) performs direct care and routine tasks under the supervision of nursing and medical staff. They answer patients’ call lights, deliver messages, serve meals, make beds, and help patients to eat, dress and bathe. A CNA also may take patients' temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate and blood pressure, and help them to get into and out of bed and walk.

Work environment:

A certified nurse assistant works in hospitals or nursing care facilities, similar to other nursing jobs.

Training requirements:

A certified nurse assistant must complete a minimum of 150 hours of training and pass a certification exam. A CNA is licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health.
